Working With A Recruiter

We look forward to working with you to help enhance your career. It is very exciting to see people obtain their career goals. A recruiter is always in search of that perfect match and spends many hours researching companies, negotiating and networking. Just like yours, our time is valuable.

To make our time together the most efficient, cooperation is a must. Realize we will ask some in-depth and personal questions about such things as income, family support, good and poor career experiences. We trust the information you provide us is straightforward, verifiable and without exaggeration.

If we are presenting you to a hiring manager our information about you MUST be accurate. Be assured we do highly value confidentiality. We will not make your information public.

Keep in mind the following when you work along side a recruiter:

Remember the recruiter's job is to find a perfect match between an individual and his/her career goals with that of an organization.

Make sure your recruiter works in your area of specialty and is educated about your field.

Ask questions to assess a recruiter's reliability. Does he/she keep you up to date on the hiring process with clarity and promptness? Does he/she return your phone calls?

Be honest about your talents, past experience, current income, desire to relocate and potential offers you are already considering to preserve a positive working relationship with your recruiter. Integrity is a rare commodity these days and a lack of it can ruin a good opportunity and reputation.

Feel free to contact your recruiter whenever you wish.

Stay away from recruiters who charge you a fee for their service and/or time, make public your resume without your permission, or show unethical behavior.

Tip: Commonly, the first piece of information a recruiter will want to know from you is your ability and desire to relocate. Are you open to relocating to another city or state for a new job opportunity? How about your spouse and family? Decide this issue before you begin participating in the process.
