Tips for a Successful Telephone
Interview:

Have your resume in front of you in order to
consistently make references to your career
and highlight your accomplishments.

Have a glass of water readily available.

Make sure you are in a place with NO distractions.
(ex. put the dog outside, turn off call waiting,
get a baby sitter)

Speak loudly and enthusiastically into the phone.
Smile when you are talking (it naturally increases
the volume of your voice).

Vary your tone of voice. Remember, the hiring
manager cannot see your expressions or nonverbal
cues.

Have three references prepared to mention if
asked. Have their name, title, relationship
to yourself, phone number, company they work
with.

Remember to ask: What is your hiring process?
What is the next step for me in this process?
